Milky Nude lips with Pupa
Hey guys!
I love a nude lip. I think we all do secretly, whether we do it right or
not. I am always on the hunt for a new nude lipstick or lip combo. A
lip combo is combining colours or products together which help achieve
that perfect nude lip. Sometimes it can look harsh, so you need to go
that little bit extra just to perfect the look!
Milky nude is a nude which is extremely light. Almost ghost-like but if
done well, it looks good.  I like milky nude lips because it gives off
an innocent, young girl vibe...which I am duh!!!! To achieve this look I
used a Pupa lipstick (see brand here)
which Jacq gave me a swap some time ago. I love this lipstick because
it's super moisturising with a glossy finish, which is perfect for the
milky look. It's also quite sheer so it doesn't end up looking too harsh
on your lips. Because it's sheer, your natural lip colour seeps through
to make it look more human than ghost-like. I think when doing a milky
nude lip, try to stay away from mattes, or top up with a lipgloss to
make it look less harsh. You don't want to look dead so add a bit of
life back to it. I team this lipstick with a brown tone lip pencil from NYX,
because I'm Asian I want the lipstick to blend well with my brown skin.
But, before doing all of that, make sure you moisturise your lips well
with a lip balm - my favourite is the Burt's Bees.
When did I discover Milky nude lips?
Duh of course from the Gyaru queen Tsubasa Masukwaka who has the
best milky lips in the world! Her's are a bit more extreme than mine, I
think where she is practically white, she can go lighter with her lips. I
personally can't do that with my skintone, or I'll just end up looking
washed out and dead. Tsubasa has her own line of makeup called Candy Doll.
I own one of her lipglosses (again thank you Jacq) which is a milky
peach colour. She also owns Dolly Wink...ring any bells??? My all time
favourite liquid liner is from Dolly Wink and she also specialises in falsies which I am (and I think Jacq
is also) a fan of. I think you can easily use a liquid concealer, and a
peach, pink or brown tone lipgloss on top to bring it back to life. I
personally don't like concealer on my lips cos it never stays! It just
bleeds through so I prefer using a sheer, milky lipstick just to prevent
it from looking harsh, and to allow my natural lip colour to add some
life back to the look too. Below is how I got on.
